OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

SUSTAINABILITY IN PRINT FINISHING

At Nobelus, we know our commitment to enhancing people, partners, and the world’s brands includes offering the print and packaging industry sustainable finishing solutions. We view sustainability as a journey marked by continuous growth and learning, one that impacts not only Nobelus and our customers but also our employees, communities, and consumers across the world. We strive to comply with applicable legislation and pursue clean production, pollution prevention, and continuous improvement of environmental performance in whatever ways we can.

NOBELUS PILLARS OF SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability encompasses more than just products and equipment. As a distributor to a wide range of print service providers, we know it is crucial to work hand in hand with each of our customers to learn more about sustainability in different parts of the industry and find finishing solutions that will help them progress in their own sustainability journey.

Research and Development

From performing continuous market research to offering customers a range of eco-conscious laminating films and structures, we are committed to helping our customers meet their sustainability goals and reduce food waste, lowering the impact of a major contributor to climate change. We regularly engage in active learning through trade shows, sustainability conferences, and consultation with subject matter experts in sustainability.

Environmental Responsibility

We are conscious of the waste and emissions produced in our processing facilities, warehouses, and office spaces. We have invested in electric forklifts to reduce the number of gas-powered vehicles in our warehouses and are committed to choosing options that lower our carbon footprint when possible. Nobelus managers and administrators are continuously looking for ways we can become more sustainable in our day-to-day processes and practices.

People and Community

Sustainability does not stop at the doors of a facility. Nobelus is committed to making choices that empower our workforce and surrounding communities. We strictly follow all federal and state guidelines regarding labor regulations and equality in the workplace to ensure each employee has the same benefits and support. Each Nobelus employee receives 16 hours of paid volunteer time off (VTO), a policy that encourages team members to aid their local community in whatever way is most needed.

RECYCLING INITIATIVES AND WASTE REDUCTION

We know the plastic materials inherent to our industry pose a natural challenge to our sustainability goals. That is why we are committed to reducing or eliminating plastic waste wherever possible through optimized efficiency and recycling initiatives. Our closed-loop slitting process ensures film off-cuts are bailed together and transferred to a recycling partner to be converted into waste-to-energy fuel pellets. Rather than simply avoiding waste, this practice ensures excess plastic is used to provide energy for businesses and communities. The Nobelus team is also dedicated to lean initiatives that maximize productivity while minimizing waste in processing, shipping, and inventory.
